Sixth Month Silence

It's has been quite the six months, let me tell you. Collin and I have been busy with life and haven't kept you informed. For that, we appologize. To get you up to speed, we are happy to inform y'all that we've been building our house! Three months of labour, planning and sunscreen have paid off; we are roughly half way there! Collin has set up a website just for the updates on our house.

New Job!

I have a new job. I love my job. My job is hard, but my job is fun. Do you know what I do for a job? Coffee? Banking? Retail? Nope. Nope. Nope.

I do painting! I do sanding! I do cleaning! I work for Koepke Painters. I. Am. A. Painter.

A Surprise Valentine's Gift...

As I approached Valentine's Day in my mind with hopes and anticipation, I was simultaneously disheartened by the grueling fact that I must work an afternoon shift; which, would ruin my fantasy of a romantic day. Well, as fate would have it, my sweet and generous brother, Michael, would call me up and offer me tickets to see John Mayer, Valentine's Day evening with Collin! I was SO excited, but so disheartened: I must work. With bravery rising within me, I called my boss to do a last minute schedule change (the night before), and with God's favour, I was able to get it off! My Valentine's Day would be work free and full of free music by a guitar LORD with my husband in Toronto: HOW ROMANTIC.

If you are hoping and anticipating for something great to happen, but with the knowledge that it couldn't within your own doing, just wait, because anything can happen when you least expect it....

Monetary and Marketplaces

This year is a year full of goals, visions, dreams and challenges for Collin and I. We have a game plan for moving out of our apartment, moving in with my parents, building a (mobile) house, putting together an EP by the fall, searching for a car, and running a business. Collin has made the transition, after waiting a year and a half to do so, of working full time for himself with his graphic design business. We are very blessed in this journey of stepping out in faith for work. Things seem to be shifting in this season for us; it's as if we've been slowly walking through the terminal and now God is placing a ground level escalator in front of our feet so that we can walk faster than normal. Where are we headed? Not sure, but if it's with Jesus, then it will be pretty sweet.

FJ Cruiser.... The Ultimate Car Dream.

Hey friends, do you own a car? You most likely do. Do Collin and I? No, sadly. And yet, we often daydream, drool, and drift off into car land. Our car land day dream is usually fixated one on car: the FJ Cruiser. Firstly Collin's dream, but is now mine as well. Have a look:

Ain't she a beaut? Well, as some of you have heard, Collin and I wish to buy plans from the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company hopefully this spring and will commence in the experience of building a house. Mortgage free. YES, I said mortgage free. With these cute wee homes, you can avoid that, as well as building codes, taxes, and a permanent location. Well, the money we'll save with the house, we may be able to pull off buying an FJ Cruiser to tow it! Perhaps with financing, we could do it, seeing as we wouldn't have house payments, any real bills or debt to speak of.

Call us crazy? Radical? Impractical? Big spenders? Childish? Naive? Sure, but at least we have a dream and we're gonna go for it. What are some of your dreams?
